New Jersey Guard Supports Partner Albania in Readiness Exercise

Soldiers with the New Jersey Army National Guard teamed with  the U.S. Army Security Force Assistance Brigade to advise and prepare the Albanian Armed Forces for a critical NATO validation exercise in Bize, Tirana, Albania, Sept. 15, 2022.  The New Jersey National Guard continues an over 20-year state partnership with Albania, while the SFAB Soldiers have been in country since April, embedded with the Albanian Light Infantry Battalion Group.

The six Citizen-Soldiers with the 44th Infantry Brigade Combat Team performed life-saving measures when an individual went into cardiac arrest at the site Feb. 15. The Citizen-Soldiers are supporting the site’s healthcare workers by assisting in temperature screening, registering and guiding individuals through the various stations, and monitoring people after they received their vaccinations.
