Brig. Gen. Cahit Irican , deputy commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force mission, presided over the transfer of authority ceremony of KFOR Regional Command East at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, Oct. 22, 2024. Col. Jason Baker, commander of the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Georgia Army National Guard, relinquished command of KFOR RC-E to Col. Peter D. Helzer, commander of the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oregon Army National Guard.

Caleb Kaufmann, a geospatial engineer Soldier with the 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Oregon National Guard, deployed to the KFOR Regional Command East mission sits on a stack of maps in the map depot Sept. 1, 2020, at Camp Film City, Pristina/Prishtina Kosovo. Kaufmann was the sole continuity between the outgoing Czech Republic NATO partners and incoming Austrian NATO partners in a warehouse with over 100,000 maps.
