U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 146th Maintenance Group, 146th Airlift Wing, based on Channel Islands Air National Guard Station, practice executing the fundamentals of Crash Damaged and Disabled Aircraft Recovery on Volk Field in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, April 16-18, 2024. Using a new system for the MQ-9 called “Satellite Launch and Recovery” and with a 118th Wing Tennessee Air National Guard pilot and sensor operator sitting at Berry Field Air National Guard Base, the plane flew from California to Smyrna Airport.
