Wisconsin Guard members wrap up involvement in Yama Sakura 61

Army Capt. Jeremy Lyon, an infantry officer with the Wisconsin Army National Guard's 332nd Rear Operations Center, discusses troop movements with his Japanese counterparts at Camp Itami, Japan, Feb. 4, 2012. Lyon is participating in Yama Sakura 61, which was held just north of Osaka. Yama Sakura is an annual Japan-based, simulation-driven, joint-bilateral command post exercise held with the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force and the U.S. military, designed to enhance U.S. and Japan combat readiness and interoperability and strengthen military relationships.

The Guard members are training at Camp Friendship in support of Cobra Gold 2012. Cobra Gold 2012 is the 31st iteration of the joint, multinational exercise held to enhance interoperability with participating nations and to advance security throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Around 2,400 saplings were given to the approximately 200 elders from villages around Alingar district.

The Stoners are assigned to the 230th Engineer Battalion as food service specialists at the dining facility. Crystal uses the knowledge she gained from advanced individual training to better serve Third Army service members here at the dining facility. Their support in food service helps ensure everyone receives the support they need to continue their missions.

Kosovo: Georgia Guard's newest citizen Soldier

Army Staff Sgt. Rodrigo Mondaca, a supply sergeant with the Georgia Army National Guard's 3rd Squadron, 108th Cavalry Regiment, officially became a U.S. citizen in a naturalization ceremony conducted at Camp Bondsteel, Kosovo, Jan. 20, 2012. Mondaca is one of approximately 10,000 deployed military members who have taken the oath since 2001.

The 451st EDFT works as a part of the International Security Assistance Force in northern Afghanistan. ISAF Regional Command North supports Afghan National Security Forces in close coordination and collaboration in providing security and disrupting insurgent activities in order to protect the Afghan population.
