Opposing force is interoperable; ready for Saber Junction 18

Soldiers from the 119th Sapper Company, West Virginia National Guard, unload concertina wire in preparation for placement in a Hohenfels training area. The 119th is a part of the opposing force which simulates the enemy during the exercise scenarios. Saber Junction 18 is the 173rd Airborne Brigade’s combat training center certification exercise, taking place on the Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels training areas, Sept. 4 to Oct. 1, 2018.

Guard units from Calif. and Tenn. join in Ukraine training

Idaho Army National Guard and Montana Army National Guard Soldiers from the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team conduct a live-fire exercise with Royal Thai Army Soldiers at the Cavalry Center in Thailand’s Saraburi province Aug. 28, 2018, the final Hanuman Guardian 2018 training event for infantry Soldiers from both forces. Hanuman Guardian 2018, Aug. 20 – 30, builds capabilities of both armies while increasing the interoperability of U.S. and Thailand forces, longtime allies. More than 150 U.S. Army and 350 Army National Guard Soldiers and 350 Royal Thai Army Soldiers are participating in the training exercise.

Hanuman Guardian is an 11-day bilateral army-to-army exercise that strengthens capability and builds interoperability between U.S. and Royal Thai Army forces.
