Air National Guard pilot safe following aircraft accident

MADISON, Wisc. - A pilot from the Madison-based 115th Fighter Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard is safe after ejecting from an F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jet over Adams County at approximately 1:20 p.m. today during a routine training flight.

The pilot has been recovered south of the town of Chester in Adams County and is being medically evaluated. The aircraft has been located in the town of Chester. Emergency responders are on the scene to secure the aircraft.

An Air Force investigating team has been requested to determine the cause of the accident.
