Gen. Grass visits historic bridge at Minuteman National Historic Park

CONCORD, Mass. - Gen. Frank J. Grass, chief, National Guard Bureau, recently visited the North Bridge at Minuteman National Historic Park, here Apri l 10.

During the visit, Grass spent time at the Massachusetts National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters, the North Bridge and at Northeastern University.

The executive seminar, hosted by the National Guard Bureau Homeland Security Institute, in cooperation with Harvard University's JFK School of Government, is designed to provide a broad understanding of federal and state emergencies, crisis decision making and multi-agency collaboration.

Grass's visit to Joint Force Headquarters addressed Guard members about the state of the National Guard and its dual mission of federal deployments and the Guard's homeland mission.During his visit to Northeastern University, Grass praised Northeastern University for implementing a first-of- its-kind agreement with the National Guard, enabling Guardsmen to earn their Master of Arts degree in Homeland Security through the university's College of Professional Studies.
