LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark., - The Arkansas Air National Guard's 123rd Intelligence Squadron received a confirmed mission today to deploy seven Airmen in support of Operation Unified Response in Haiti for a currently undetermined period of time.

The Airmen are scheduled to depart here on Jan. 22 to begin their mission to provide imagery analysis assets to the Joint Task Force.

The unit's personnel will analyze imagery from full motion video taken from fixed wing aircraft conducting aerial reconnaissance over the affected area. The unit will assist with force protection for our troops on the ground through identification of areas with rioting or mass crowding of displaced persons. It will also be responsible for analyzing infrastructure such as roadways, sea and airports to help identify their capabilities of accepting incoming support.

This is the first and currently the only confirmed mission for the Arkansas National Guard in support of operations in Haiti.
