SOUTHWEST ASIA - Air National Guardsmen from the 129th Rescue Squadron responded in self-defense when they came under hostile fire May 10 during a flying mission out of Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan.
The 129th Rescue Squadron flies HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters with a primary mission of performing combat search and rescue tasks, including personnel recovery and medical evacuation.
Members of the 129th RQW are from Moffett Federal Airfield, Calif.
