Maryland Guard Soldiers Return Home From Border Mission

District of Columbia Guard Returns from Border Mission

Aguon, command chief warrant officer for the D.C. National Guard, and Lt. Col. Ryan Rooks, state aviation officer for the D.C. Army National Guard. About two dozen D.C. Guard members returned home following a 12-month deployment to the southern border.

Patriot Day Events at Camp Arifjan
Area Support Group - Kuwait

Area Support Group – Kuwait hosted three events in remembrance of those killed during September 11, 2001. Beginning at 5 a.m., more than 1500 people ran or walked the Patriot Day 5K. The Patriot Day ceremony followed at 9:11 a.m. Charge d’Affaires, U.S. Embassy Kuwait, James Holtsnider, delivered the keynote speech. Wreaths were offered by: the U.S. Embassy to Kuwait; the Australian Ambassador to Kuwait Her Excellency Melissa Kelly; the Canadian Ambassador to Kuwait Her Excellency Aliya Mawani; the Italian Ambassador to Kuwait Carlos Baldocci; the Mexican Ambassador to Kuwait Miguel Isidro; the British Ambassador to Kuwait Her Excellency Belinda Lewis; the French Defense Attaché to Kuwait, Col. Francois Dickes; and numerous Kuwait partners from the Kuwait Ministry of Defense and Kuwait Ministry of Interior. The culminating event took place at the Fire Department tower where approximately 300 people climbed 110 stories, in honor of the firemen that who took the fateful trip into the World Trade center.
