NY National Guard Sustainment Soldiers Heading for Middle East

New York National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 369th Sustainment Brigade stand in formation during a farewell ceremony at Camp Smith, N.Y., Sept. 18, 2022. The brigade, known as the "Harlem Hellfighters" for the unit's service in World War I, will be deploying to Kuwait to provide logistics support to Army forces in the Middle East.

Puerto Rico National Guard Rescues Hurricane Victims

Members of the Puerto Rico National Guard, 125th Military Police Battalion, rescue a man who had apparently gone out to try to find gasoline and was caught in a flash flood caused by Hurricane Fiona in Ponce, near Mercedita Airport in southern Puerto Rico. The hurricane knocked out power to the entire island.

New York Firemen to Represent Guard at Jungle Warfare School

Jeremy Miter, assigned to the 274th Air Operations Support Squadron, will represent the New York National Guard and the U.S. military at the annual international course taught at the Brazilian military's jungle warfare training school in Manas, Brazil. The New York National Guard has sent Soldiers and Airmen to the school since 2019 as part of a State Partnership Program agreement with Brazil's armed forces.
