Croatia, Canada Join Minnesota Best Warrior Competition

Twenty Minnesota National Guard, four Croatian, and three Canadian Soldiers competed in Minnesota’s Best Warrior Competition March 29– April 1, 2023, at Camp Ripley near Little Falls, Minnesota. The annual competition tests the military skills, physical strength and endurance of the top Soldiers and noncommissioned officers.

Seven crew chiefs with the Minnesota National Guard’s Bravo Company, 834th Aviation Support Battalion, were sent to Croatia to advise and assist the Croatian Armed Forces as they integrated UH-60M Black Hawks into their Air Force. Minnesota and Croatia have been partners under the Department of Defense National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program since 1996.

Croatian service members visit the Regional Training Site-Maintenance at Camp Ripley, Minnesota, Oct. 24, 2021, to continue a 25-year partnership with the Minnesota National Guard under the State Partnership Program. During the week-long trip, Minnesota National Guard instructors trained the Croatians on equipment and maintenance on the mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle and Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
