The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) presented Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti with its Distinguished Graduate Leadership Award (DGLA) for the year 2023 at the college's Newport, RI campus, Sept. 18. The DGLA, first presented in 1996, recognizes the accomplishments of alumni who have used their NWC education as a springboard to positions of senior leadership and prominence in the field of national security. The 2022 award was presented to Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.
