U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, conduct team live fire maneuvers during Pacific Fortitude at Nightmare Range, South Korea.
“We're hoping to bring back solid experiences that they can then take and mentor new soldiers with, ” said 1st Lt. John Shustack, a platoon leader for Charlie Company, 4th Battalion, 70th Armored Brigade. “As well as taking this experience and building upon what they already have and become a more lethal fighting force.”
Pacific Fortitude aims to uphold long-standing agreements with the Republic of Korea by deploying forces, managing equipment logistics, and validating unit readiness to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to the alliance. (U.S. Army video by Staff Sgt. Mauricio Quezada)
