NAVAL AIR STATION SIGONELLA, Italy (April 19, 2024) Navy Medical Research Unit (NAMRU) EURAFCENT conducts a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella, Italy, April 16. Headquartered in Sigonella, NAMRU EURAFCENT has permanent research sites in Cairo, Egypt and Accra, Djibouti as well as a forward-deployed laboratory at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti. NAS Sigonella's strategic location enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to deploy and respond as required to ensure security and stability in Europe, Africa, and Central Command.
