U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit offload a CH-53E Super Stallion to prepare a Forward Arming and Refueling Point on Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 31, 2022. U.S. Marines from the 3d Marine Division conducted force-on-force training with the 31st MEU to test the resilience of a small, lethal force in a dynamic operating environment. The training demonstrates the joint force’s ability to integrate command and control, expand battlefield awareness, and conduct long-range precision strikes as an enduring, stand-in-force.
