Soldiers with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's International Rifle Team held an athlete clinic today for more than 300 competitors attending the 2020 U.S. Army Junior Rifle National Championship at Fort Benning, Georgia. The invitation-only juniors traveled to the historic Army base from 24 different states and represented some of the top junior smallbore, precision and sporter marksmen in the Country. The clinic is part of the annual competition that is held to promote the development of rifle marksmanship skills among American youth and to recognize those who respond to this challenge.

During the clinic, the Soldiers discussed everything from fitness to mental stamina, all with the goal of making the juniors better competitors and just more healthy in general.

Soldiers teaching the clinic were 2016 Olympian, Sgt. 1st Class Michael McPhail; and Olympic hopefuls: 1st Lt. Sarah Beard, Spc. Sagen Maddalena and Spc. Ivan Roe.
