What is Go SLO?

Go SLO stands for Safes, Locks, or Outside the home.

Fort Benning Soldier seeks spot on Team USA

U.S. Army 1st Lt. Sarah Beard, a Danville, Indiana native, competes at the Smallbore Olympic Trials - Part 1 September 30 - October 4, 2019 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Top competitors from across the United States compete side by side in the three-position rifle discipline for a spot on Team USA in the 2020 Olympics. Scores from Part 1 will be added to Olympic Trials - Part 2, which will also be held at Fort Benning, Georgia March 29-31, 2020.

After Part 1, Beard, who is the daughter of 1984 Olympian William Beard, sits in sixth place.

This b-roll packages shows some of the action from the qualification rounds and the finals at the Smallbore Olympic Trials - Part 1.

Note: 1st Lt. Sarah Beard is a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier who is assigned to the World Class Athlete Program and attached to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. Her father also served on both active duty and the Army Reserve for over 20 years and retired as a major. He trained with the USAMU at Fort Benning as well.
