What is Go SLO?

Go SLO stands for Safes, Locks, or Outside the home.

  • Safes: Store firearms in a gun safe or locked cabinet.
  • Locks: Use trigger locks or cable locks.
  • Outside the home: Temporarily store firearms with a trusted person or at a recommended installation.

Fort MacArthur Centennial Celebration

Fort MacArthur, a former United States Army installation in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California celebrated its Centennial Celebration on 19 Oct. 2019.

The event began with a parade and opening ceremonies, the celebration also featured cannon fire, vintage aircraft flyovers, a kid zone, a STEM booth, and military heritage exhibits to celebrate the Fort’s history.

The fort is named after Lieutenant General Arthur MacArthur, Jr. US Army. The military installation was intended to improve the defense of the expanding Los Angeles harbor area.

Fort MacArthur is home to military members of all branches and is owned and operated by the 61st Air Base Group.
