U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit
Oct. 3, 2019 | 3:22
U.S. Army Spc. Timothy Sherry and Sgt. Patrick Sunderman of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit International Rifle Team claimed the Gold and Silver Medals in Men's Three-Position Rifle at the USA Shooting Smallbore Olympic Trials - Part 1 on October 4, 2019 at Fort Benning, Georgia.

The Soldiers and other athletes from around the United States competed in two days of Qualification Relays and then the top eight sought extra points in a Final.

Results from Part 1 of the Olympic Trials will be added to Part 2 (in March) and that combined score will determine who makes Team USA for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

The b-roll package shows some of the action from the Day 1 Qualification Round on October 3, 2019. All Soldiers in the clips belong to the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's International Rifle Team.

The first two clips are of Spc. Jared Desrosiers, a Swansea, Massachusetts native.

The next three clips are of two-time Olympian Sgt. 1st Class Michael McPhail from Darlington, Wisconsin. Mcphail currently sits in fourth place in the Olympic Trials.

The next two clips are of Sgt. Patrick Sunderman, a Farmington, Minnesota native who claimed the Silver Medal in the Part 1 Olympic Trials.

The next four clips are of Spc. Timothy Sherry, a Highlands Ranch, Colorado native who won the Gold Medal in the Part 1 Olympic Trials.

And the final two clips are of Spc. Brandon Muske, a Brenham, Texas native.
