The plan to construct a robust air-to-ground military training range at the Brig. Gen. Kazio Veverskis Training Grounds, near Kazlu Ruda, Lithuania, began about 2-years ago. Four rotations of Pennsylvania Air National Guardsmen, primarily civil engineer personnel, were tasked with completing the range over a period of approximately 2 months, as part of their deployment for training. Rotation one broke ground early July and the project is ongoing, with rotation two wrapping up their portion of the work mid-August. Rotation 4 will take over from there, with completion of the project slated for mid-September. In this video sequence a member of the 201st RED HORSE Squadron starts and operates one of the many bulldozers needed to grade the construction site.
