Medal of Honor - Sgt. Matej Kocak
2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division
June 21, 2018 | 1:00
Sgt. Matej Kocak, a U.S. Marine Corpsman assigned to the 66th Company, 5th Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division received the U.S. military's highest award for valor, the Medal of Honor, for his #Second2None actions on July 18, 1918 near Soissons, France.

Sgt. Matej Kocak's Medal of Honor citation in part reads:
"When the advance of his battalion was checked by a hidden machine-gun nest, he went forward alone, unprotected by covering fire from his own men, and worked in between the German positions in the face of fire from enemy covering detachments." "Locating the machine-gun nest, he rushed it and with his bayonet drove off the crew."

Col. (R) William M. Alexander, director of the 2d Infantry Division Museum narrates the valiant tale of the WWI #Warrior.
