Critical Care Air Transport Team Prepare to Support Hurricane Irma

The Critical Care Air Transport (CCAT) team from the 59th Medical Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX, prepare life-saving medications for their advanced cardiac life saving (ACLS) bag. The CCAT team traveled to Scott Air Force Base, Ill. to prepare with the 375th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron in support of Hurricane Irma relief efforts. CCAT teams are comprised of a critical care physician, a critical care or emergency room nurse, and a cardiopulmonary technician. With this team, they are able to transport up to 3 critical care patients or up to 6 mid-level patients.
