July 19, 2015 | 1:56
Firefighter teams from five different Army and Air Guard units join forces and complete search and rescue exercises. Each exercise is called an evolution. Each evolution is made up of four crew members. Two members conduct the search and rescue portion while two other members manage the hose and nozzle. The evolutions last approximately 15 minutes each. Members also used the aircraft rescue firefighting truck to extinguish fires on the mock aircraft. It has a remote control nozzle that can discharge 150 gallons of foam or water and 500 pounds of dry chemical carried onboard. Produced by Air Force Staff Sgt. Erik Gallion. Includes soundbites from Air Force Master Sgt. Clint Thomsen, assistant chief, 185th Air Refueling Wing Fire Dept.
