What is Go SLO?

Go SLO stands for Safes, Locks, or Outside the home.

  • Safes: Store firearms in a gun safe or locked cabinet.
  • Locks: Use trigger locks or cable locks.
  • Outside the home: Temporarily store firearms with a trusted person or at a recommended installation.

U.S. Army Capt. Warren Kothrade, commander, and critical care nurse assigned to the 307th Forward Resuscitative and Surgical Detachment, U.S. Army Reserve, describes his experience during Justified Accord 2026 and his role in keeping military members safe while conducting exercises at Kenya Defence Forces School of Infantry, Isiolo, Kenya, March 2, 2026. The 307th FRSD is staged to provide emergency medical care and stabilize patients for follow-on treatment during JA26, should the need arise.

JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions, and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenyai and Tanzania, this year’s exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 15 nations.
