The New Mexico Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team rendered planeside honors for U.S. Army Cpl. Richard A. Veal, a New Mexico National Guard Soldier who fought in the defense of Bataan during World War II.

1st Lt. Vivian Roberts: Only Georgia National Guard WWI POW

Vivian Roberts, the only Georgia Guardsman POW during World War I, in his American Legion uniform. Roberts was shot in the leg and captured by German soldiers in France in 1918. After the war, he served as clerk of Bibb County Superior Court in Georgia.
