Military Medical Merit Inductee is 1st From Maine Guard

The order was founded by the commanding general of the U.S. Army Health Services Command in 1982 to recognize excellence and promote fellowship and esprit de corps among Army Medical Department personnel.

Massachusetts Guard, Art Commission Unveil ‘Every Flag a Story’ Exhibit

The regimental colors of the 6th Massachusetts Infantry are displayed in a custom case as part of the “Every Flag a Story” exhibit unveiled in a ceremony in Memorial Hall at the State House in Boston. This flag was carried by the regiment during its march through Baltimore when they were attacked by hundreds of Southern sympathizers, resulting in the first bloodshed of the Civil War.
