FMAP addresses needs of National Guard community

Courtesy story

"The current economic climate underscores how important sound financial management practices are to our service members and their families.Their financial health is essential to the National Guard's military preparedness."

- Gen. Craig R. McKinley

Managing money can be demanding, especially for National Guard members and their families coping with the challenges of military service and deployment.

Fortunately, practical support, tools and resources are available to help you secure your future, achieve your financial goals and improve your quality of life.

The Financial Management Awareness Program (FMAP) aims to address the unique needs of our National Guard Community.

Whether you're planning to buy a house, invest in your retirement or balance your checkbook, your path to financial preparedness is straighter than you think!

Think Outside the Buck.

With free access to the many financial education programs available to National Guard members and families, you can learn how to make the right financial choices and easily overcome obstacles to achieving long-term financial stability.

These obstacles come in many forms:
  • Mortgage Foreclosures
  • Mortgage Refinancing
  • Bankruptcy
  • Loss of Income
  • Poor Debt Management

You don't have to face these challenges alone. FMAP has joined the Secretary of Defense's Office of Military Community and Family Policy and MilitarySaves.org to promote a culture of financial preparedness within the National Guard community.

By completing the financial awareness survey below, we can better assist our Service Members and Families by determining if the National Guard community knows where to find financial education programs and how to use them to promote their financial preparedness. It takes only minutes to complete and helps us serve you better!

Once you take the survey, be sure to take the Military Saves pledge!

THE SAVER PLEDGE: I will help myself by saving money, reducing debt, and building wealth over time. I will help my family and my country by encouraging other Americans to build wealth, not debt.
