National Guard Members Continue LA Wildfire Response

Carter and other members of his unit were assisting CALFIRE in mop-up efforts, which included clearing brush and backfilling firebreaks and other areas to prevent mudslides and reduce the impact of firefighting efforts.

A U.S. medical team assigned to the 919th Medical Company Ground Ambulance, augmenting the 409th Medical Company Area Support, both under the 807th Theater Medical Command, and Tunisian Armed Forces conduct ground-to-air medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), utilizing ambulance personnel to swiftly load and transport a simulated casualty from a U.S. mobile medical facility to a helicopter landing zone during exercise African Lion 2025 (AL25) at Ben Ghilouf Training Area, Tunisia, April 24, 2025. A seamless handoff was executed, demonstrating strong interoperability between Tunisian and American medical teams. Exercises like this enhance the readiness of responders to address warfighter medical issues, save lives and keep troops in the fight. AL25 is set to be the largest annual military exercise in Africa, bringing together over 40 nations, including seven NATO allies and 10,000 troops to conduct realistic, dynamic and collaborative training in an austere environment that intersects multiple geographic and functional combatant commands. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) on behalf of the U.S. Africa Command, AL25 takes place from April 14 to May 23, 2025, across Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, and Tunisia.
