National Guard Members Continue LA Wildfire Response

Bryce Carter, an infantryman with C Company, 1st Battalion, 160th Infantry Regiment, California Army National Guard, sharpens the blade of a hoe to clear brush and other debris as part of remediation efforts along the Mulholland Trail near Tarzana, California, in the aftermath of the Palisades Fire, Jan. 18, 2025. Carter and other members of his unit were assisting CALFIRE in mop-up efforts, which included clearing brush and backfilling firebreaks and other areas to prevent mudslides and reduce the impact of firefighting efforts.

NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BAHRAIN -- Video of distinguished visitor transportation from Naval Support Activity Bahrain to Arabian Gulf to meet Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force's mine sweeper tender JS Bungo (MST-464) at sea in Arabian Gulf, which is spearheading simulated counter-mine operations around the Arabian Peninsula along with Royal Fleet Auxiliary landing ship dock RFA Cardigan Bay (L3009) as part of International Maritime Exercise 2019 (IMX 19). Featuring Royal Saudi Naval Forces Rear Adm. Abdullah Al-Shammary, Deputy Commander of IMX 19. The visit was designed to help representatives from various nations and parter organizations better understand the scope of this exercise. IMX 19 is a multinational engagement involving partners and allies from around the world designed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experiences across the full spectrum of defensive maritime operations. The exercise serves to demonstrate global resolve in maintaining regional security and stability, freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce from the Suez Canal south to the Bab el-Mandeb Strait through the Strait of Hormuz to the Northern Arabian Gulf.
