Maj. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, Commanding General, 99th Readiness Division, U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. Zachary Muñoz, and Retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Vincent Bochcchio offer personal reflections on their motivations for marching in the 105th annual Veteran's Day Parade in New York City, the largest such event in the country. Each veteran highlights their unique perspectives on service and patriotism, underscoring the significance of the parade as a celebration of all branches of the military and of servicemen and women, past, present, and future. Maj. Gen. Belanger emphasizes the importance of honoring the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families, noting that participating in this historic event is a way to demonstrate solidarity with fellow veterans and to publicly acknowledge the debt owed to them by society. Sgt. Muñoz, a current service member, views the parade as an opportunity to recognize the contributions of both past and present members of the armed forces. Retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Bochcchio , reflecting on his own military experiences, shares that marching allows him to pay tribute to his fallen comrades and to inspire younger generations to appreciate the values of duty, sacrifice, and patriotism. Together, their participation in this momentous event highlights the collective spirit of remembrance and the enduring legacy of all those who have served in the military.
