Joint Base Charleston joined Hurricane Florence relief efforts by acting as a staging location for various relief and rescue units, Sept. 15, 2018. The base hosted the 334th Air Expedionary Group, The Pennsylvania and South Carolina National Guard Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) .
