On. Nov. 9, 2024, U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS John Basilone (DDG 122) will be commissioned in New York City. This destroyer is named after U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. John Basilone who is the only enlisted Marine awarded the Medal of Honor and Navy Cross for his actions during World War II.
