The National Guard is committed to ensuring quality drinking water is provided to its Soldiers, Airmen and civilians. Proactive sampling is performed by the Army and Air National Guard on its drinking water systems, as well as, coordination with other purveyors to ensure perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) remains below the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) lifetime health advisory (HA) level of 70 parts per trillion (ppt). The EPA HA is not an enforceable or a regulatory standard, and represents a concentration in drinking water that is not expected to produce adverse health effects if the water is consumed over a lifetime.
