On March 26, 2020, Lt. Col. Paul “Tucker” Jancsy, an air liaison officer with the National Guard Bureau, collapsed on his kitchen floor in Saratoga Springs, New York. Jancsy was taken to the hospital where he would become one of the first people in the state and in the National Guard to be diagnosed with COVID-19. While in the hospital, Jancsy experienced respiratory failure, fell into a coma, and was subsequently taken off life support. Miraculously, he survived. In this video, Jancsy shares his experience battling the deadly virus and discusses the support he received from his community and National Guard family. (U.S. Air National Guard video by Master Sgt.
