Pfc. Donovan R. Puffer from Mackinaw, Illinois discusses his experience as a high school student at the National Guard Patriot Academy at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Complex in Butlerville, Ind. Puffer is a graduate of the last class of the Patriot Academy which began as a pilot program in 2009 to offer a second chance to new recruits to earn their high school diplomas and serve their country. The program will case its organizational colors in January, 2013. Puffer is a member of the Illinois Army National Guard.
