HILO, Hawaii - U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 4 Hau Okada, a Hawaii Army National Guard pilot, maneuvers a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter aboard a Hawaii Air National Guard C-17 Globemaster III assigned to the 204th Airlift Squadron as U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Christopher Pacheco, a Hawaii Army National Guard senior mechanic and standardization instructor, guides the aircraft from atop its folded rotor system during upload operations at Hilo International Airport, July 31, 2026. The upload required close coordination among pilots, maintainers, ground guides and loadmasters to safely prepare the aircraft for transport to Clark Air Base, Philippines, marking the first deployment of a Hawaii Army National Guard Black Hawk to the Philippines for bilateral aviation training under the Department of War National Guard Bureau State Partnership Program between Hawaii and the Philippines.
