Indianapolis, Indiana - Major General Roy Martin Umbarger (Retired) had been appointed as The Adjutant General of Indiana on 11 March 2004, reappointed by Governor Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. on 1 December 2004 and then reappointed by Governor Michael Pence on 13 December 2012. As The Adjutant General, General Umbarger's primary focus is to lead the Indiana Army and Air National Guard, the Indiana Guard Reserve and State employees all totaling over 15,800 personnel to meet state and federal missions.
