Springfield, Illinois - Brigadier General William H. Weir was assigned as Deputy Commander, State Headquarters, Illinois Army National Guard in February 2004. Under his direction Illinois is fully engaged in transformation to meet the demands brought about by the Global War on Terrorism. He guides the formulation, development, training and implementation of all programs and policies affecting the Illinois Army National Guard's 9635 citizen soldiers.
