West Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers with the 1022nd Engineer Company have built more than 15 staircases for use by troops across Erbil Air Base in Iraq. The staircases are placed in some of the most highly traveled areas, enabling Soldiers to get to elevated platforms safer and more efficiently.
