Mather, California - U.S. Army 1st Lt. Vincent Sherrill, a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter pilot with the California Army National Guard's 1st Assault Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment, conducts a preflight inspection of the helicopter Nov. 16, 2018, at Sacramento Mather Airport in Mather, California, before flying water bucket missions to help contain the deadly Camp Fire burning in Butte County. Sherrill is a traditional Guard Soldier who also works as a civilian insurance underwriter. This is his first year flying wildfire missions.
