Arlington, VA - Senior Master Sgt. Angel Correa, an airborne sensor operator and linguist with the Host Nation Rider program, a component of the larger National Guard Counterdrug program, used his Spanish language skills and knowledge of maritime communications during the rescue of four boaters off Costa Rica's southern coast in mid-October. The rescue was a first for Correa, who was aboard a Coast Guard HC-130 Super Hercules aircraft in a joint counterdrug operation when he coordinated the rescue efforts.
