Irish-American Soldiers earned nation's respect

Hanscom Air Force Base - A list of causalities from the 9th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry describes how Soldiers with common Irish surnames met their fate during the Civil War. In the war against slavery, at least 140,000 Irish immigrants and first generation Irish-Americans served in the military.
