South Carolina stands up cyber protection unit

Eastover, SC - The South Carolina National Guard's 125th Cyber Protection Battalion held its Activation and Assumption of Command Ceremony, Oct. 21, 2017, at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. Lt. Col. Linda Riedel, left, assumed command of the battalion during the ceremony as the 125th flag was unfurled. The Battalion is activating to respond to the numerous threats to national security and infrastructure from hacking of electronics systems from those wishing to do harm to the U.S.
