West Virginia National Guard certified for flood rescue with civilian agencies

Charleston, West Virginia - West Virginia National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Barry Moore with a dog from the Kanawha County Humane Association during an animal rescue training session held Oct. 12, 2017 at the WVNG Center for National Response. The Humane Association’s dogs were used to familiarize members of the WVNG, Clendenin and Glasgow Fire Departments with the proper way to handle and decontaminate dogs and other smaller animals in emergency rescue situations.
