Old cannonballs destroyed at Ft. Indiantown Gap, PA

Fort Indiantown Gap, PA - The U.S. Army and Fort Indiantown Gap, run by members of the Pennsylvania National Guard, teamed up in July to dispose of hundreds of Civil War-era cannonballs found in Pittsburgh this spring. The munitions were destroyed at Fort Indiantown Gap. This image shows an 8 lb. cannonball. Several variants were found on the site of the defunct Allegheny Arsenal.
