South Carolina National Guard Soldier Capt. Kyle Franklin, chaplain, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-151st Security and Support Aviation Battalion, greeted two of the people he helped Feb. 9, 2013, after a ceremony May, 3, 2015, at McEntire Joint National Guard Base where he was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for Heroism. Franklin was presented the award for his heroism for extracting two people from a burning vehicle and rendering medical aid to two others who were involved in a head-on collision.
