Deputy Commanding General, United States Army Pacific

Major General Patrick D. Wilson assumed duties as Deputy Commanding General, United States Army Pacific; Fort Shafter, Hawaii in April 2007. United States Army Pacific's mission is to provide United States Pacific Command with trained and ready forces in support of security operations, from engagement to warfighting to promote regional stability and ensure successful crisis response or decisive victory. During his time at United States Army Pacific he has worked with Joint Task Force-Homeland Defense involving Defense in Support of Civil Authorities, Homeland Defense and Security issues, lead the Disaster Management Exchange with China, worked with Global Peace Operating Initiatives events, and participated in numerous national and international events.

General Wilson began his military service in 1976 as an enlisted Soldier. He attended the Utah Military Academy's Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in 1979. Prior to his assignment in the United States Army Pacific, he served as the Commander of I Corps Artillery at Camp Williams, Utah. He concurrently served as the Deputy Commanding General, Army National Guard, at the United States Army Field Artillery School. He has been responsible for the deployment and recovery of numerous organic artillery units including Battery and Battalion sized combat forces in support of Operation Enduring and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has served as the Joint Task Force Deputy Commander and the Joint Task Force Fire Support Coordinating Officer for numerous international exercises. He has commanded at the Regiment, Battalion and Battery levels.
