BRIGADIER GENERAL JOHN M. WEEK
Brig. Gen. John M. Week serves as the Director of Joint Staff, Nevada National Guard. As the Director of Joint Staff, General Week manages the Nevada National Guard Joint Staff and joint military program operations throughout the state. He oversees joint staff operations supporting 4,300 Soldiers and Airmen serving in the Nevada National Guard. He is overall responsible for coordinating the Nevada National Guard support to civil authorities during domestic response operations. Brig. Gen. Week is the senior federal full-time National Guard management official and serves as principal executive assistant and advisor to the Adjutant General.
Commissioned in 1991 through the Air National Guard Academy of Military Science, Knoxville, Tennessee, Brig. Gen Week has served in the ANG for over 39 years and served in numerous squadron and group-level command positions. Brig. Gen. Week has deployed to Southwest Asia on three separate occasions leading C-130 maintenance operations in theatre. Prior to his current position, he was the 152d Mission Support Group’s Commander where he was responsible for directing all base support for 152d Airlift wing with eight C-130H3 Hercules aircraft, as well as the quality and quantity of training for over 350 personnel, ensuring they are prepared to perform the wing’s mission.
