ARNG Special Assistant to The Judge Advocate General, United States Army
Brigadier General Thomas S. Walker assumed duties as Special Assistant to The Judge Advocate General of the Army (TJAG) on 1 September 1999. He acts as principal advisor to TJAG for Army National Guard judge advocate training, readiness, personnel management and related military law matters. He represents the TJAG as appropriate.
The General began his military career in 1968 when he enlisted in the Army as a counterintelligence agent. He joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 1973, while in law school at the University of Oklahoma. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as staff judge advocate and rear area operations commander for the 45th Infantry Brigade (Separate). He was the first judge advocate in the Army to attend the Tactical Commanders Development Course. In his civilian career, Brigadier General Walker is the Chief Judge of the 20th Judicial District, a five county district in southern Oklahoma. He holds a concurrent assignment by the Secretary of State to the Court of the Judiciary with the authority to remove Oklahoma judges from office.
